The Foundations of First Crow Indian Baptist Church

Statement of Faith

1. We believe in one God, who has always existed in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit ; Creator of all, visible and invisible (Gen 1 & 2; Deut 6:4; Matt 28:19; Mark 12:29)

2. We believe in the Bible as the inspired and infallible Word of God (2Tim 3:15-16).

3. We believe in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ, His substitutionary atoning death, burial, bodily resurrection, and ascension (Isaiah 7:14, Rm 8:34; Acts 1:10).

4. We believe in salvation by Grace, through the blood of Jesus Christ (1Jn 5:10; Rm 10:13-15).
5. We believe in the practice of the ordinances of  communion in remembrance of the death and resurrection of Jesus our Savior 1Cor 11:23-26);  and of water baptism by immersion in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matt   28:19).

6. We believe in divine healing through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ on the cross (Isaiah 53:4; Matt 8:16-17; James 5:13-14).

7. We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, which enables a believer to live a holy life (Heb 12:14; 1Pt 1: 15-16).

8. We believe in the catching away of the church (the rapture) (1Thes 4:13-18) and in the second coming of Jesus Christ (Acts 24:15; Luke 14:14; Rev 19).

Vision of First Crow Indian Baptist Church

And the Lord answered me: “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run [with it] who reads it.”

(Habakkuk 2:2)

The Vision:  First Crow Indian Baptist Church is a Kingdom Church, a church of Jesus Christ our King, Lord, and High Priest.  This means that:

1.    We are led by the King, Jesus Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit. (John 15:4-8; Matt 6:10)

2.    We worship and praise our King in spirit and in truth. (John 4:24)

3.    We are taught Kingdom principles so we can live the abundant, blessed life that the Father ordained for us. (John 10:10)

4.    We carry the Kingdom Message of reconciliation with the Father to the lost in this world.  A message of grace, through the power of the Cross and the Blood of Christ. (2Cor 5:18-21)

What's Happening

In the spring of 2011 a major flood hit our area and our historic church, which was built in 1910.  During mitigation we found severe old damage from previous floods in 1930 and 1978, as well as other problems related to the age of our facility.  Critical structural components such as floor joists, bottom plates, and the foundation had severely deteriorated beyond reasonable repair.  There are also the problems often found in buildings over 100 years old, which make it more cost effective to rebuild instead of repairing a failing facility.

Our old building has been demolished and we are in a fund raising drive for the new building.  We will begin concrete work for foundation and floors as soon as the cold weather breaks this spring (2014).
